Hailing from Lancaster PA, Hanna Pederson is a freelance musician and music teacher in the Chicago area. In the summer of 2021 she completed her four year term as a regular member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, a training program with the CSO. She holds degrees from Rice University and the University of Maryland and has studied viola with Ivo Van Der Werff, Katherine Murdock, Joan DerHovsepian, and Peter Slowik. Over the summer she has taken part in festivals such as the National Repertory Orchestra, Contemporary Performance Institute, National Orchestral Institute, Kent/Blossom Chamber Music Festival, Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, and Chautauqua Music School Festival Orchestra. She currently maintains a private teaching studio in Chicago and performs around the city.
